Description
Two-Way Communication radioguide.
Whisper WS2 allows clear communication and interaction between pupils and coach. With this radioguide system you can have a clear and high-quality bidirectional communication, better than a mobile phone conversation but without using the GSM network.

With WS2 Receiver pupils can speak with the coach and hear his real-time feedback, without interference or environmental noises, up to 500 mt.

With WS2 Transmitter, coach can talk to one or more pupils (receivers) at the same time, thanks to 3 different communication modes:

One to One
Private conversation between coach (1 transmitter) and 1 pupil (1 receiver)

Multi-group (from KIT2)
Conversation between coach (1 transmitter) and a group (or more) of pupils set on the same channel

Conference (from KIT2)
Conversation between coach (1 Transmitter) and an infinite number of pupils connected on the same channel.

How long does the warranty last?
All our radios are guaranteed for 24 months from the purchase date. Click here if you would like to report a damaged product.

What does two-way radio mean?
Bidirectional or 2-way radios allow a speaker or instructor to speak to the learner or student and vice versa. In this case, both the RECEIVER and the TRANSMITTER are equipped with a headset with a microphone.

What does one-way radio mean?
Unidirectional or one-way radios allow a speaker or instructor to speak to a listener or student, who in turn cannot respond but can only listen. In this case, the RECEIVER is equipped with a headset, while the radio TRANSMITTER with a microphone.

How do I recharge my radios?
Our radios are sold with USB charging cables compatible with all the charging plugs in the market.
To recharge the battery of the TRANSMITTER and the RECEIVER you can use most standard plugs that you use daily for charging your smartphone or tablet of any kind and brand (Apple, Samsung or commercial).

To recharge the radio:

  1. Turn off the radio (TRANSMITTER OR RECEIVER)
  2. Connect the USB charging cable to both the RECEIVER/TRANSMITTER and to a source of electricity through a charging plug
  3. The LED on the front of the radio (above the display for the WS2 model) turns red
  4. The radio is charged when the LED turns off

As a source of energy, in addition to the standard outlets you can use the USB port of your car, scooter/bike or computer. In this case note that charging times may take longer. You can also use a POWER BANK (charging speeds vary based on its specifications).

How long does it take to recharge the battery?
The charging times vary and depend on the plug used. For fast charging, we recommend using a 1.5 or 2-amp plug of any brand. The charging time depends on the power (Amperage) of the Plug used.

To recharge quickly and comfortably up to 10 radios you can use our USB Multicharger. This accessory is lightweight and very small and allows you to quickly and simultaneously recharge up to 10 transmitters or receivers (compatible with mini sport and WS2 radio models).

If you need to charge more than 20 receivers you can buy a charging suitcase through which you can recharge and carry up to 56 radios, including accessories.
Charging suitcases for WS2 model radio are for 28 radio units.

How do I understand when the radio is charged/depleted?
From radio on: The WS2 transmitter and receiver and the mini SPORT transmitter are equipped with displays. While turning on the radio (both receiver and transmitter) on the display at the top left, the battery icon appears with 3 even bars inside, each symbolizing 33% charge (totaling 100% when all three are displayed).

When the battery icon shows:

  • 3 bars: battery charge level between 68% and 99%.
  • 2 bars: battery charge level between 34% and 67%.
  • 1 bar: battery charge level between 5%and 33%.

Radio off: All Whisper radios have an LED (on the front) indicating the battery level. On a low battery, the LED appears red. When the battery is 100% charged the LED will turn off.

What can I do when the receiver suffers from interference?
Our radios are designed to communicate on short-range frequency and generally do not suffer from interference from other radio systems.

However, in some cases where there may be other radios in use on the same channel, there may be bleed over. This can happen on a specific channel or sets of channels (frequency) on which your radio usually operates and someone else is occupying the same channel, or when there is slight interference from other transmissions (though this is not as common).
If this happens, simply change the channel to a different one on transmitters and receivers.

How can I sanitize the radios?
Radios can be sterilized with an alcohol-based towel or with any antibacterial or sanitation product available on the market.

Can I use two transmitters on the same channel within a 50-metre radius?
You cannot use (while on) two transmitters set on the same channel within a radius of 250 meters on the WS2 and 150 meters mini model radios.
The transmitters on the same channel create interference that inhibits their operation by preventing all receivers from working.

If there is a situation where all the receivers do not work, check that only one transmitter is on that channel.

How do I switch channels?
To switch channels, you must first unlock the radio.

  1. Turn on the radio
  2. Press the button with the LOCK icon 5 sec.
  3. The LOCK icon disappears from the display
  4. Use the UP ARROW and DOWN ARROW buttons to move between channels.

When the radio is tuned to the transmitter channel on the display at the top left, the reception icon appears.

How many channels do the radios have?
The WS2 model radio has 48 channels spread over 4 frequency groups

How can I adjust the volume of my earbuds?
From “radio on”, you can adjust the volume to 9 levels.
Turn up the volume: From “locked radio” (lock icon visible on display) press the up arrow button until you reach the desired level.
Turn down the volume: From the “locked radio” (the lock icon visible on the display) press the down arrow button until it reaches the desired level.

For increased performance, we recommend that you make this and all other adjustments before using the radios. You should also test the systems prior to full use.

How do I adjust the volume of my microphone?
It is possible to adjust the volume of the microphone only on the transmitter.
This adjustment allows you to adjust the correct volume of the microphone when switching from a panoramic microphone (such as Ear-mic accessory or the Clip Light to a directional microphone (such as the Helmet PRO, the Neck light so that the speaker’s or instructor’s voice arrives at the receiver with the optimal volume:

To adjust the volume of the microphone:

  1. Turn on the transmitter
  2. Press the button with the LOCK icon 5 sec
  3. The LOCK icon disappears from the display
  4. Press the SET button to increase the volume level
  5. Turn on a receiver on the same channel as the transmitter you’re using to verify that the volume level of the earbuds is correct.

The microphone volume is set correctly when:

  • Using the volume key ( – ) the receiver can mute it.
  • The instructor’s voice is dominated by background and ambient noises.

For the WS2 radio (transmitter and receiver) together with the Helmet PRO microphone headset, the microphone volume allows you to activate the voice cap return function.

In everyday use, radios are worn in pockets or technical clothing that make it more difficult to understand whether the radio is on or not, especially in speed sports and snow.

Using a volume level between 3 and 6, you can listen to your voice in your earbud. This will allow the speaker or instructor to understand without looking at the display of the radio whether he is broadcasting or not.

  1. Wear Helmet PRO earbuds
  2. Turn on the transmitter
  3. Press the button with the LOCK icon 5 sec
  4. The lock icon disappears from the display
  5. Press the SET button to adjust the volume level (0 > 6)
  6. Speak into the microphone until you find the right level for you
  7. Press 5 sec. the button with the LOCK icon to lock the radio

How do I change the channel group?

To change channel group:

  1. Turn off the radio
  2. Press the LOCK and DOWN ARROW button at the same time

  5. Repeat until you find the desired group (863 > 864 >792 >913).

What should I do when the transmitter and the receiver do not communicate even though they are set on the same channel?
The WS2 radio is designed to be used in different countries around the world and that’s why they can be set to run on 4 different frequency groups (863, 864, 792, 913).

  3. Turn on the transmitter and check the number that appears on the display (863, 864, 792, 913)

If the numbers are not the same and then set to 2 different channel groups, do the following or contact technical support.

  1. Turn off the receiver
  2. Press the LOCK and DOWN ARROW button at the same time
  3. Now with your other hand turn on the radio taking care not to leave the pressure on the LOCK and DOWN ARROW buttons
